Botanic/al is relating to plants. We are excited to see plant sculptures!
You may use glues and epoxy clays to connect your pieces. Accessories can be added, but gourd must be the majority of your sculpture
Members of WSGS may enter. Your botanical sculpture should be made from a gourd or gourds. Be creative. Entries will be judged on the design. You may give your entry a title when you submit your entry photo.

These are the class examples for the 2026 Retreat
WSGS Gourd Retreat
JULY 15 - 17, 2026
The Washington State Gourd Society will be hosting our Third Annual Gourd Retreat. We are excited to gather at the same beautiful location right in the shadow of Mt. Rainer on July 15-17th. The Mineral Lake Conference Center is located on Mineral Lake.
Here the wildlife is bountiful, the landscape breathtaking and fabulous views of Mt. Rainier a plenty. Mineral Lake Lodge was originally built in 1906 as a high-brow wilderness retreat for the fiscal elite of Seattle and Tacoma and is now hosting gourd enthusiasts for a retreat like no other. Overlooking beautiful Mineral Lake, the 3 ½ acre site has 215 feet of pristine, private waterfront. At the end of the day, one can enjoy a campfire down at the lakeshore - wood and s’mores makings are provided. While you are here you may wish to take in the experience of visiting Mt. Rainier National Park right in our backyard.
